Dalam pidatonya rektor menyampaikan bahwa tahun ini Unsil telah bekerjasama dengan Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). “Alhamdulillah Universitas Siliwangi pada tahun ini dapat bekerjasama dengan Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) dengan mengirimkan mahasiswanya mengikuti Program Latihan Profesi (PLP) di Universitas Siliwangi dan sebaliknya tahun depan Insya Allah akan dikirim mahasiswa Unsil ke USM Malaysia untuk mengikuti program yang sam,” jelasnya.
Rektor menyampaikan bahwa tahun ini peminat Unsil pada jalur Seleksi Masuk Bersama Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN) mencapai 17.538 orang dari daya tampung 992 orang. Saat ini Unsil juga sedang mempersiapkan satu gedung baru yaitu Gedung Fakultas Teknik yang saat ini tengah dilakukan proses pembangunannya yang diharapkan dapat diresmikan penggunaannya tahun ini.
